PURPOSES:
To be a high-quality academic program, unique at regional, national, and Latin American levels, that educates professionals in sports communication, covering the areas that our social context demands, such as sports
marketing and sports journalism.
ADMISSION PROFILE
The applicant of the Master’s Degree in Sports Communication must have an undergraduate educational experience in related areas, as well as knowledge that justifies their admission due to the existing relation of their academic and professional education with this master’s degree.
In addition, the applicant must have experience in management, promotion, and practice of any sports activity, appropriate use of writing, understanding, and analysis of information, ability to use new technologies, and knowledge of English applied to the respective major.
Applicants must also show attitudes such as open willingness to work, responsibility, commitment, desire for personal improvement, and restlessness to respond to labor and social problems.
Functions:
o Promote the development of graduate studies, encouraging the design of new master’s and doctoral degrees.
o Assume the responsibility to comply with the plans and study programs of professors.
o Assume the responsibility to allocate and distribute the academic load of graduate studies.
o Propose professors for the master’s degree courses.
o Represent the school before any other educational institution of the state, the country, or abroad upon decision of the dean.
o Present annually a report of activities to the dean and the UANL Department of Graduate Studies.
o Elaborate the regulations of the school’s Division of Graduate Studies, with the support of the Legislative Committee of the Board of Directors.
o Coordinate the school’s graduate studies.
o Be an ex-officio member of the Graduate Committees of the school.
o Propose the necessary consultant committees for their functions.
